Before he's anything else, Mike is a husband and a dad. He met his wife Brenna in 2007 — she teaches 8th-grade English at Harrison-Morton in Allentown — and they're raising their son Auron and daughter Ayla right here in the 132nd. Ayla was born just 13 days after Mike was first elected. They're the reason he does this work.
A nationally recognized advocate for mental health, Mike has been openly honest about his own lifelong struggle with depression and anxiety — and he's used his story to break the stigma and pass real help into law. He's the co-founder and co-chair of the bipartisan Mental Health Caucus.
In 2024, his colleagues elected him House Majority Whip — the number-three position in the House Democratic Caucus. That means a bigger voice for the Lehigh Valley in every budget and every policy negotiation in Harrisburg.
